The Bahraini Women's Union is a civil society organization of a democratic nature. It was established with the aim of coordinating and unifying the efforts of women's associations into one strong entity that works to defend women's rights and empower them to assume the position they deserve in society. The union was officially announced on August 2, 2006, and currently includes 10 women's associations under its umbrella.
