On the evening of Tuesday, November 19, 2024, the Kano Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Bahrain Women Union, organized a symposium entitled, “The Law to Combat Violence against Women.”
Ms. Jalila Al-Khabaz, Director of the Aisha Yateem Center for Family Guidance, spoke at the symposium, and reviewed the procedures for dealing with cases of violence and the challenges she faces as a counselor working with victims of violence, and lawyer Siham Sulaibikh, who spoke about the Bahraini legislator’s position on the Domestic Violence Law and the role of this law in protecting women from violence.
The dialogue was moderated by Ms. Iman Al-Asfour, Chair of the Federation’s Committee for Combating Violence against Women.
The symposium witnessed the presence of a large audience of members of women’s associations, civil society, and those interested in and following this file.
